10/
10/30; 10:30PM. Partly Cloudy, mid 60's.
Crew has arrived. Picture of Dismal Swamp in the background as we had a great dinner. Off on another adventure tomorrow provided I can get this crew going.
Paul now posting: tom typing, not responsible for spelling. Hooters was interesting....according to Tom ;-). Looking forward to tomorrows adventure in the swam with these two with Hawkeye and Trapper.
Don now posting: What are we doing????? Mile Zero just behind us. wtf. Am lost for words and just don't know what to say. Don wants to fish looking for mud puppies.
Tom (Klinger) Now: It's a great night and we are all looking forward to the next phase in a dream. Next update when we can find FREE wifi,
The Three Amigos.

USS WISCONSIN

10/30: Cloudy this am, drizzle today, 70's tomorrow
Completed all chores yesterday, laundry and boat stuff. Not much of a day to do things. Little more cleaning today then Paul and Don arrive this afternoon. I am expecting a fun evening.
Can't play to hard as we have to make the Lock at the Dismal Swamp at 8:30AM. People here tell me there will be 50 to 100 boats lined up for the first opening. If you miss the first opening you don't have a chance of making the entire canal in a single day. Max speed in the canal is 6 Knots which will be a change.

Norfolk VA

8:30PM clear, warm 65 ish, no wind.

Jeff and Kevin left today, sad to see them go as the boat seems very empty. Could not have had better traveling companions. The sad part is I just got a text from Jeff and they are stuck in Philadelphia. They left here at 1:30 this afternoon.... so much for air travel.

Figured out the posting time on this thing, you'll probably notice. Fixed minor water leak at the ice maker...very important. Thurs. go thru the systems, oil, water, sea strainers etc. in prep for my new crew. Laundry too...... btw I'm doing this on Wed night over a great glass of Scoth...Thank You Steve and Avis.

Have met some very nice people, a couple also going to Stuart. They left this am but I'm sure our paths will cross on the way.

We spent the morning on the USS Wisconsin, saw a retirement ceremony, very emotional even for an old hard ass like me.

Hope everyone is well and my love to all.

Norfolk VA - Waterside Marina

70 ish; humid with light rain, wind brisk out of south. 7AM. (Still don't understand the time stamp on these blogs)

Monday we stayed at a place called Mobdicks Boatyard and Marina in North VA...yes that the name of the town.. Unique spot, no cell or Internet service at all, they just recently got dial phones and seemed excited about that. Basic marina, great people, the lady in the office offered us her car if we need to "go to town" for anything. Slip was $25 for the night. They pay 100/mo for the season. We moved on to Norfolk, about 3 hrs, got here about 11. Great marina in the center of town. Lots of "Irish Pubs". Going to be a lot to see today. Jeff and Kevin fly out this afternoon, Don and Paul arrive Friday and we will be off further south. All is well, I'm going to miss these two guys for sure.

Annapolis MD

6:41AM, COOL but going to be a great day. Boat running great. Crew is great. It still feels like I'm living a dream.

Arrived here about noon yesterday.

Fantastic trip down the C&D and on down Chesapeake Bay to here. We took a nice slip here at the Annapolis Yacht Club...very nice. Then it was off to town to find a bar in order to watch the Pat's. Find a bar...what a joke...this is a navy town and there are dozens of bars almost lined up door to door. Great afternoon and a win for the Pats but not a pretty game..

Boys (Jeff and Kevin) went out last evening. I settled in and got a great night sleep. Can't wait to hear their stories this am when then get up... We will be going out to breakfast this am for a change and then off further south. Plan is to split the distance today between here and Norfolk and arrive there mid day Tuesday.

Still High Adventure

Location: Delaware City at mouth of C&D Canal

Temp: Cool, low 60's. Clearing.
Picture as we passed "THE LADY" on Friday afternoon

Fantastic trip from Atlantic City inside the intracoastal, up Delaware Bay to the C&D Canal. Sights on the ICW were fantastic. Seas were great with only an occasional shower. Had dinner and beverages at Crabby Dicks last night. 8 hrs on the move yesterday it was good to stop and relax.
Today across the C&D and south Chesapeake Bay.
O yes, almost 7AM. Kevin and I are up, Jeff continues to sleep. Late start today but no rush.
I do not understand the time stamp on this post?

Trump Marina

Warm (65 ish); on and off rain. Everyone up. We'll take our time leaving this am, staying inside as we suspect it's still rough outside No issues, all is well. Expect to make the C&D today and beyond.. This whole event is more exciting than any of use expected. A true trip of our lifetimes. Hello to all from Jeff and Kevin.

Atlantic City 10/23

Arrived here at approximately 4:30PM. Very long trip from NYC to Manasquam Inlet (Point Pleasent) were the decision was made to move intracoastal down the inside of the NJ coast. We were taking 6 to 8 foot waves with 25+ know winds out of the NE, looking up at the top of waves is not very comfortable. Great marina in Atlantic City "Trump". Last night at Point Jefferson was fantastic, great spot worth going to again. All is well with exception of minor generator problem which we will address tomorrow. Nothing critical.

10/23. Pt Jefferson LI. Great so far..Posting from I phone. Try better post ltr

3 DAYS TO GO

Hard to believe yesterday we had snow. This morning it's 33 degrees. Forecast still looks good for departure but with these temperatures I'm sure we'll push south as quick as weather will allow us.

Weather & Marina

It's 6:30 just got call from marina. Boat next to me tour loose pounded on my boat and dock. They said no damage, we'll see tomorrow. They retied the loose boat. It was a crazy day there from what I hear.

Only 5 more days.

One Week to Go

Snowing here in Hudson. Weather not good this week but looking up for Thursdays (10/22) departure.
