Up early as usual. Anthony and Joe did some cleaning, they always so, it’s like having maid on boat, not a bad thing if I could afford it. Left the boy at about eight, they were taking a plane back to Boston. It was great having them with me in Portsmouth (Norfolk), I truly would have been lost without them. We did things, like got to the beach, which I never would have done had then not been there.
I headed to Delaware City and beyond whatever time permitted. Had a great ride out of Annapolis and up the Chesapeake to the C&D Canal, the wind, which was a slight breeze off my port stern is hardly worth even mentioning, but it made for a great ride. One thing about the Chesapeake is there must be a dozen range markers. It’s another world navigating using them and if you haven’t had been someplace where they use it when you do you’ll love it.
Arrived at the Delaware City Marina, a great spot, we had stopped there for the night and beverages on the way down. I’m sure Jeff and Kevin will remember. These details are earlier in the blog. Anyhow said hello to Keith, our drinking buddy from the trip down, got some fuel and moved and down Delaware Bay to the Cape May Canal. Great ride!
After a few arguments with “auto” my current crew member we decided it was best to stop for the evening. Now here at the Canyon Bay Marina, just off the canal. Nice place, but just a quick stop to top off, get a good night sleep and be underway at sunrise. Was going to do the on the hook thing but I guess I’m spoiled.
All is well on Three Corners, NYC tomorrow if all goes well and “auto” and I don’t argue to much.
